Europa related pricing (all denominations in US dollars):

Europa upgrade $199 (installation not included)

Ordering steps:

Step #1: Decide who is performing the upgrade:

  • You or a local service tech:

    Note that you should only attempt it if you're more than comfortable with the procedure outlined in the installation instructions. Synthcom Systems, Inc. will not be held liable for damage incurred by improper installation.

    The upgrade will include a CDROM with installation instructions - readable by any Windows or Macintosh based personal computer. The Europa upgrade chip itself is warranteed for a period of 6 months - installation is not covered by the warranty. Please refer to the Europa User Guide (3.8 Mb)  for the Europa limited warranty disclosure.

    We prefer to ship the upgrade kit via mail. For US customers, Priority Mail is the most popular option, costing only $5 for 2-3 day service. For International customers, Global Priority Mail is your best bet at $15 for 4-6 day service (limited tracking, sometimes takes longer to get through customs). For those of who wish for faster service, we recommend Federal Express (better tracking, guaranteed delivery times). For an estimate of the shipping costs, see FedEx's website for rates. Our zip code is 97212, and the package type is "FedEx Envelope". We can ship by other carriers such as UPS for an additional $10 handling fee.

  • If you're in the United Kingdom, you may wish to directly contact our authorized UK dealer & installer, Synth Repair Services in Stoke-on-Trent.

  • Synthcom Systems:

    For those who require or desire Synthcom's installation service, we can install the Europa upgrade to your Jupiter 6's controller board for a small fee. The end user pays for shipping of just the controller board both to and from Synthcom Systems, insured for a value of US$1000 (or the cost of a replacement JP-6, whichever is higher) and trackable.

    If Synthcom Systems receives an entire Jupiter 6, there will be an extra $100 charge for the extra time involved. We really prefer you don't send the entire synth - the risk of damage is too great! Synthcom Systems will not troubleshoot nonworking controller boards without prior agreement on the repair cost. Each received controller board will be tested before upgrading and the owner will be contacted if the controller board is not functional or if the controller board was damaged in shipping.

    Turnaround time is usually 24 hours, excluding holidays and weekends. We cannot guarantee immediate turnaround, but we will do our best to ship it back quickly.  All upgrades are performed on a first come, first served basis.

    We recommend shipping your controller board via Federal Express. For an estimate of the shipping costs, see FedEx's website for rates. Our zip code is 97212, and the package type is "Your Packaging". Specify a 1.5 lb box that measures 12x12x6 inches, insured for US$1000. We can ship by other carriers such as UPS for an additional $10 handling fee. We prefer not to ship controller boards via mail , due to a customer's mailed controller board disappearing for 6 months. The board eventually arrived safely, but we do not want to agonize over a customer being without his Jupiter 6 for so long again.

Step #2: Have the following information ready before contacting Synthcom Systems:

  • Your name and shipping address, including country!
  • If shipping via FedEx, your phone number.
    WE CANNOT SHIP VIA FEDEX WITHOUT A CONTACT PHONE NUMBER!
  • Your email address
  • Number of Europas desired
  • Number of batteries desired
  • Who will be doing the upgrade (see Step #1)
  • Method of shipment desired (see Step #1)
  • Method of payment (VISA, Mastercard, PayPal, money order, or cashier's/bank drawn check in United States funds - personal checks, wire transfers, & payments via Western Union are not accepted)

Step #3: Contact Synthcom Systems:

    Contact us in one of the following methods with the information collected in step #2:

  • By phone: (United States) (503) 318-8954. Hours are 10AM-6PM Monday through Friday - Pacific time (Daylight saving time observed). All major United States holidays observed.
  • Please do not call us during odd hours expecting a machine!  We are on 24 hour emergency call, and there's nothing worse than being woken up at 6AM!

Step #4: Synthcom Systems confirms your order:

    For user or tech installed Europa upgrades, a total price will be quoted (including shipping) and the order shipped the same or next business day after payment has been received. For Synthcom installed Europa upgrades, we will confirm your order and send you the shipping instructions if you haven't already downloaded them. Note that any duties, taxes, or import fees are the responsibility of the buyer. Sales tax is not applicable in any state in the United States (we're in Oregon!).

    Notes on various forms of payment:

  • Credit card phone orders - For user/tech installed Europa upgrades, your credit card will be charged the same day the product ships. For Synthcom installed Europa upgrades, your credit card will not be charged until the board has been received and has been upgraded. Customers may include credit card numbers inside the package along with the controller board shipped to Synthcom.

  • Emailed credit card orders - If you wish to pay by credit card by email, we recommend sending the first 8 digits in one email, the last 8 digits in another, and the expiry and CVV (3 digit security code on the back of the card) in a third email.

  • Online credit card (Paypal) - For user/tech installed Europa upgrades, an online Paypal bill will be sent detailing your order and return shipping address. Europa will be shipped the same or next business day when payment confirmation has been received from Paypal.

  • Bank drawn/cashier's checks, money orders - For user/tech installed Europa upgrades, Europa will be shipped when payment is received. For Synthcom upgraded controller boards, shipment will also occur when payment is received.

  • Personal checks, wire transfers, Western Union - We're sorry, but we cannot accept these forms of payment.  Paypal can withdraw money from a checking account, if that is the desired funding source. 

A note to non-US customers:

Over 50% of our sales have been to customers outside the United States!  Musicians are using Europa-upgraded Jupiter 6s in the United Kingdom, Germany, Canada, the Netherlands, Australia, Sweden, France, Spain, Austria, Norway, Singapore, New Zealand, Denmark, Finland, Belgium, Russia, Ireland, Israel, Argentina, Brazil, Columbia, Cyprus, Italy, Japan, Malaysia, and Portugal (countries are listed according to number of Europas sold).

At present, our only authorized installer located overseas is Synth Repair Services in the UK.  We are happy to install Europa upgrades for non-US customers, though we encourage you to research the shipping costs first.
