Cup Cozy

My next project will be one where I can practice knitting in the round with Double-Pointed Needles (DPNs). I'll be using some nice wool yarn I got at KnitPicks.com. In fact, I got my wooden DPNs from them as well. I can't wait to give them a try!

Here's the yarn I'll be using for this project:
Knit Picks Telemark 100% Peruvian Highlands Wool, Color Pesto

This is a nice soft wool yarn. I can't wait to give it a try and see how it knits up!

I'm going to be working with a free pattern from KnitPicks.com to make this project. Here's a link to the pattern at KnitPicks.com, in case you want to make one of these, too.

Update 02/08/2010:
I began this project today. So far I've got 4 rows of stockinette knitted, and it isn't looking too bad. Next I get to start making the pattern, which includes a bit of rib knit and some diamonds. Yippee! Not too bad for my very first attempt at using DPNs. :)

Update 02/11/2010:
Well, I'm about 25% finished with this cup cozy. I think it's looking pretty nice, don't you?

Update 02/15/2010:
It's done! I finished it last night! Here it is, all washed and blocked. I did have to shrink it in the dryer a bit to get it to fit smaller cups (I usually get 12-oz coffees, not the larger ones). But I don't think I did too bad for my first time knitting in the round with DPNs. :)

Here it is, all done!
Here's a close up so you can see some of the details. :)
